Monthly Newsletter

This month I am celebrating the 10th anniversary of Loddelina, ten years of more or less continued creating of handmade bags and other accessories. I recently found a box of my very first handbag designs, the early attempts of sewing and trying out patterns (I will share some of them in one of my next posts).

I have learned a lot since then, mostly through trial and error but what other way is there? And I am still learning, my latest task was to finally start Loddelina newsletter, a monthly issue with fresh shop news, a look into my work in progress and announcements of special offers and events.

One year of blogging

I can't believe it has already been a whole year since I started this blog! I have enjoyed writing ever single post, be it about a new bag in my shop or some interesting pictures I took of the things that inspire me, not to mention the fun I have with Flashback Friday.

And most of all I enjoy reading your responses and seeing how my work echoes in the blogosphere - it is a very welcome feedback and I want to thank all of the Loddelina friends for your support and kind comments!

Over the weekend I have experimented a little with the cool new Blogger template designs. After trying out a few I have decided on this neutral looking poppies background and a new banner. I tried some other, much more colourful background photos, but they took too much attention away from the posts - and after checking the new site on my iPod touch I could see that the background doesn't matter much on the small screen anyway...

I used this picture of a row of houses in Augsburg to make my first blog banner. What do houses and handbags have in common? I'm not sure but somehow I couldn't resist the warm colour combination and the lovely pattern of the windows... I guess one can find creative inspiration anywhere, even looking at pretty houses, right?

Chocolate!

Well, there was no time (or particular talent on my side) to make me a 1st Etsy-versary cake yesterday but I did treat myself to this cute little box of Lindt chocolates. Mmmmm.

Lindt has a line of pretty mini sized praline boxes in pink and brown that are perfect for a gift - even if it is for oneself...

My first giveaway!

Today is exactly one year since I've joined Etsy. I heard about it from a pottery making friend of mine - for a while I was just a curious observer and three months ago I opened my own shop.

To celebrate the 1st anniversary I'm giving away one of my home decoration hearts - The Strawberry Heart. It measures 12x12 cm (4.7 x 4.7 inch) and is made of raw silk in fuchsia pink and dark orange, adorned by beads and organza ribbon. You can hang it on the door, use it as a Christmas ornament or offer it to someone special.
