New beginning

Happy New year to all my dear friends - I hope you have recharged your batteries over the holidays and are ready to face new challenges!

I am late with my first blog post of 2013, holidays were very busy, visiting family in Slovenia and, after coming back home, looking for our dear cat who went missing during our absence :-(
I only hope Tigrou will eventually find his way home (luckily he has a tattooed number in his ear) after perhaps spending "holidays" at some local cat lover who feeds strays...

Loddelina shop has reopened and I am offering my sets of little house ornaments at a sale price - see the shop for details. January will be spent reviewing my supplies, sourcing some fresh fabrics for spring projects and getting back to work - there will be new items in my shop soon!

Srečno novo leto vsem mojim prijateljicam - upam, da ste si napolnile baterije in ste pripravljene na nove izzive!
S prvim zapisom v letu 2013 malce zamujam, saj so bile počitnice precej pestre, za povrh pa se nam je med našo odsotnostjo izgubil še muc, ki so ga čuvali sosedje. Upam, da se bo kmalu vrnil (k sreči je tetoviran) in da se je le začasno zatekel h kakšnemu prijaznemu skrbniku potepuških mačk...

Loddelinina trgovina je spet odprta, z novo, znižano ceno za male hiške okraske, januar pa bo v glavnem čas za pregled zalog blaga in drugih potrebščin, za nakup novih, spomladansko svežih tekstilij in za vrnitev k šivalnemu stroju - kmalu na svidenje!

Giftwrapping

These days I am adding mostly smaller items to my shop; tree ornaments, brooches and zipper pouches - they make perfect Christmas gifts :-)

I offer free giftwrapping for all my items upon request and I also attach a handmade blank card for a personal message - just let me know in the message to seller that you are offering your Loddelina design as a gift.
Yesterday I posted a larger order of such little gifts and it is on its way to a lovely customer in Budapest - thank you again!

Button Wednesday

Wednesday is button day for Petronella, the creative force behind kraplap shop, who posts amazing "buttoned up" ideas on her blog every week. Today I can participate with these yummy wooden buttons that just came by post. I ordered them to spice up my bags - or just to look at them because they are so pretty, does one need more reasons?

I have changed my Etsy shop currency to euro. You will still be able to see my prices in USD, although not so nicely rounded up anymore, but once you make your purchase the payment will be made in euros to my PayPal account. This step was necessary due to ever-fluctuating dollar euro exchange rate and it will enable me to set more realistic prices for my items. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Bird music

On daily walks through Pontarlier I try to explore my new hometown as much as I can.

I have already found my (so far) favourite chocolate shop where they sell delicious macarons, a crèmerie, where they sell fresh milk (you bring your own bottles) and some lovely home decoraton shops that make me want to live in their shop window.

Sometimes it is not what the shop sells that interests me, but how they decorate their wondow. It is easier when all you have to do is arrange many attractive items together, but so much more difficult when you want to presend an abstract, intangible thing.

So I was pleasantly surprised to find these happy birds in a window of a shop that sells concert tickets. The musical birds, not two completely alike, are made from what looks like polymer clay and their colourful wooden houses make a perfect background.

I like the red&white polka dot house with a blue roof best. Which one is your favourite?

Welcome back!

Phew, after weeks and weeks of internet blackout I'm back online - and my Etsy shop is opened for business (thank you for looking!).

And here are some pictures of Pontarlier, my new hometown in the East of France - that mailbox makes me smile every time I pass the house with the blue shutters...

The sewing machine hasn't been unpacked yet, there are many other priorities, but my sketchbook has some new ideas I am waiting to try out as soon as I set up my working space.

I met some very interesting people a few weeks ago at the local craft market - I couldn't resist buying a few items (could anyone?) and I will have some pictures for you in my next post. Stay tooned!

On the move

We are moving to our new appartment this weekend so I had to put my Loddelina shop on vacation mode until we settle in, unpack all the boxes (one last time) and get an internet connection.

Hopefully it will not take longer than a week, reopening is scheduled for May 2nd.

I will not be able to post for at least a week from now so I leave you with this image of Home, Sweet Home I took in a small Slovenian village Stanjel.

A busy week in the land of Etsy

Since I opened my shop on Etsy last Monday I have been busy installing gadgets, rearanging pictures, editing text and changing avatar.

I started roaming around Etsy forums a bit, trying to get some feed back on my shop in the Critique section. I have to say fellow Etsians have been very helpful and sometimes brutaly honest so I will keep working on Loddelina's shop.

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them with me - every opinion counts.

Loddelina has finaly opened her shop on Etsy!

After hours of staring at the computer screen, typing and transfering pictures, the shop is up and running - just click at the link on your right (I still have some tricks to learn about these gadgets but it will do for now...)

It is LATE and I'm off to bed. I will drink a toast to my shop tomorrow (with a large cup of coffee at breakfast).
