Giftwrapping

These days I am adding mostly smaller items to my shop; tree ornaments, brooches and zipper pouches - they make perfect Christmas gifts :-)

I offer free giftwrapping for all my items upon request and I also attach a handmade blank card for a personal message - just let me know in the message to seller that you are offering your Loddelina design as a gift.
Yesterday I posted a larger order of such little gifts and it is on its way to a lovely customer in Budapest - thank you again!

Te dni dodajam v trgovino manjše izdelke, kot so hiške okraski, broške in torbice na zadrgo - imenitna darila za praznike :-) Če želite svojo Loddelino podariti, mi to sporočite ob nakupu in brezplačno bom zavila vsa darilca in dodala prazno voščilnico. paket takšnih darilc sem včeraj oddala na pošto in že leti proti Budimpešti...

Journal

Yesterday a package arrived for me with this gorgeous leather journal I have purchased from kreativlink - I love Renate's work, her handmade journals are one of a kind and when you see the one you like you should grab it because they might be gone the same day they are listed!

I chose this lovely soft blue cover with hand drawn twigs design - it's a gift for my best friend who is expecting a baby boy any day now. As a creative person she might keep a small notebook at her side to write down quick notes and ideas before they flutter away like butterflies (like thoughts usually do when you have a newborn to concentrate on)...

A gift for Sabine

The bag measures 23 x 29 cm (9" x 11.5") with 45 cm (18") handles

This is a small boy tote I made for Sabine, my lovely friend who has bought two Loddelina bags last week. We had a mamas-only dinner on Wednesday and to thank her for the purchase I've included this little bag for her son, Timo (although she liked it so much she might keep it for herself! Girls and purses, what can you do...)

Chocolate!

Well, there was no time (or particular talent on my side) to make me a 1st Etsy-versary cake yesterday but I did treat myself to this cute little box of Lindt chocolates. Mmmmm.

Lindt has a line of pretty mini sized praline boxes in pink and brown that are perfect for a gift - even if it is for oneself...

Bird lover's birthday bag

Another birthday invitation for Gaston, another gift project for Mom...

The bag measures 23 x 29 cm (9" x 11.5") with 40 cm (16") handles

This time the invitation came from Fabio, a quiet boy nexdoor, who just turned 6. I was planning to go to town and find a nice book on nature, his favourite subject. But in the few days I had before the party there was no opportunity to go book shopping so I ended up making another tote bag.
Yes, I know, Fabio is a boy, but if Tinky Winky from Teletubbies can have a bright red feminine purse (vintage even), then a boy can have a nice book/gym shoes tote.

Unlike my son, Fabio doesn't care much about dinosaurs, robots or big construction machines, but he does like birds. I used the printed canvas with birds and branches from Ikea and cut the pattern out so that I got a bird on the front and solid black colour on the back (I used another bird print on cotton for the lining). I then machine embroidered his name in red thread and used red cotton rope for handles. At the end I hardly had time to take some pictures before I had to wrap the gift and off we went.

Fabio loved the bag. And he got enough books from other children...

New hearts

My son has entered Kindergarten last week and this difficult acclimatization period doesn't leave me much time to sew.
I'm also a bit behind on listing my hearts - I have decided to list a couple a day to stretch the surfacing period on Etsy as long as possible, so here are two new ones at last: they were made for welcoming the arrival of a baby girl or a boy.

Gaston was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where Arno and I stayed for 6-months due to his work. It might look cheesy but I loved the little It's a boy baloon one of our friends brought to us at the hospital - we took it home with us, along with the flowers from my husband, of course...

Beauty pouch for Maud

Staying up late sorting out some old picture files on my computer I came across this beauty pouch I've made for a friend a few years ago. She had asked me to make a very "girlie" purse for her little daughter and so I used hot pink ultrasuede, embroided it with some colourful yarns, added felt applique and a few ribbons in contrasted colours. It had a zipper in front and a flat pocket with two compartments in the back. It was a bit wider on the top (20 cm/8 inch), with 16 cm/6.2 inch at the bottom and measured about 15 cm/6 inch in height.
