A new start

I wish a happy Etsy new year to the fellow shop owners and, as this lovely treasury says, happy shopping to us all - I love shopping on Etsy, it is such a special experience!

New year brought a very nice surprise from Kallia from KalliasWonderland, who included my heart in this romantic collection of pasteles.

I couldn't resist also adding a few pictures from Kallia's shop, these ornaments are just so cute!

In the pink

The last week of the year began with a nice surprise from Melissa, curator of The Speckled Pear, who has again included me in one of her delicious Etsy shop features.
This time the theme was pale pink and all the pretty items together look like a window display of a favourite shop.

What can I say - girls love pink! You might not wear it every day or decorate your home with it but I'm sure there is a box somewhere in your bedroom in which you might keep a pretty pink ribbon from your childhood doll, a pencil with a pink strawberry scented rubber or a tiny little notebook with pink striped pages that you saved in case there was something realy special worth writing in...

Sew nice!

Another pleasant surprise came yesterday from a fellow Etsy-ESTsian DeerLola, who included my It's a girl heart in her tender and romantic treasury in pale pink and green. Thank you, Ina!

And it was my turn to surprise others: yesterday was my mother's birthday and inspired by a recent European street team's challenge I made her a Friendship tote with a special embroidered inscription at the back.

And just before I put my sewing machine away and focus on packing for the big move to France, I've made this zippered pouch in burnt orange and rusty red striped canvas for a family friend we are leaving behind. She is a buddhist and that is why I've chosen to embroider a Dalai Lama's quote.
Be happy!

A feature on Artsypreneur blog

My It's a girl heart has been featured today on the Artsypreneur blog by the lovely Madge, who also runs a shop pixiedustprinkles on Etsy. Her blog is full of inspirational finds and I'm honoured she picked a Loddelina item to feature. Thank you!

Two new features!

What an exciting day!

I was just finishing my afternoon latte macchiato when I got a convo from Maykela, letting me know she included my orange Nana purse in her Treasury!
Just as I was cropping the screen print picture to post the great news on my blog, another message dropped in my conversation box, this time from Fallon, the creative soul behind Olive, letting me know that my It's a girl heart made it to the Front Page - my very first!

The Treasury called My secret garden is a stunning composition of burning hot orange and cool silver, selected by Maykela, who makes beautiful jewelry with precious and semi precious stones. Front page, entitled Laced with LOVE and selected by a very romantic shop RockPaper Silver, is a delicate sellection of soft gray, pale pink and cream colours, many of the items featuring a heart shape. So much LOVE!

Thank you, Maykela and RockPaperSilver, this new Etsy adrenaline should replace my caffeine for a few days...

New hearts

My son has entered Kindergarten last week and this difficult acclimatization period doesn't leave me much time to sew.
I'm also a bit behind on listing my hearts - I have decided to list a couple a day to stretch the surfacing period on Etsy as long as possible, so here are two new ones at last: they were made for welcoming the arrival of a baby girl or a boy.

Gaston was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where Arno and I stayed for 6-months due to his work. It might look cheesy but I loved the little It's a boy baloon one of our friends brought to us at the hospital - we took it home with us, along with the flowers from my husband, of course...
